<p>Zinc co-administration during LPS (100 ng/mL) stimulation of macrophages at 6 h decreases (<b>A</b>) IL-10 but increases (<b>B</b>) TNFα, (<b>C</b>) IL-8, and (<b>D</b>) IL-6 mRNA expression as determined by qRT-PCR (experimental groups quantified relative to GAPDH and normalized to resting controls). Zinc also decreases (<b>E</b>) IL-10 but trends toward an increase of (<b>F</b>) TNFα, (<b>G</b>) IL-8 and (<b>H</b>) IL-6 protein release at 6 h and 24 h as determined by ELISA (experimental groups normalized to resting controls).
