En el presente trabajo se describe por primera vez en nuestro país un proceso patológico conocido como Lipidosis hepática (Esteatosis) y Cirrosis en un Morrocoy (Geochelone carbonarla). Los cambios morfológicos macro y microscópicos son descritos detalladamente. Este proceso patológico ha sido considerado en diversas especies de origen multifactorial, entre los que se pueden mencionar, fallas en la alimentación (sobrealimentación y estados de desnutrición crónica), toxinas bacterianas o fallas enzimáticas, deficiencias proteicas así como agentes tóxicos ó medicamentos.
