En este artículo se revisan de manera crítica, los últimos informes de la Comisión Económica para América Latina (CEPAL), relacionados con los temas de las migraciones, el desarrollo y la pobreza. El propósito es estudiar, cuáles pudieran ser los beneficios y los costos que se estarían generando a través de los envíos de dinero de nacionales latinoamericanos a sus países de origen.
