Immunostaining of the 2-week <i>Wnt1-Cre;Pdpn</i>^<i>Δ/Δ</i> mouse lower incisor sagittal section for podoplanin (PDPN).

<p>In the left images at a higher magnification of the parts highlighted by box (b) in <a href="http://www.plosone.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pone.0171912#pone.0171912.g011" target="_blank">Fig 11</a>, expression of PDPN is observed in the Hertwig’s epithelial root sheath (HS) but not in the alveolar bone (AB), or in the sheath of the nerve (Ne). There is no expression of PDPN observed in the bone marrow (BM) and dental pulp fibroblasts (DP). In the right images at a higher magnification of the parts highlighted by box (c) in <a href="http://www.plosone.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pone.0171912#pone.0171912.g011" target="_blank">Fig 11</a>, expression of podoplanin is observed in the inner enamel epithelial cells (IEE), but not in the odontoblasts (Ob). There is no expression of PDPN observed in the dental pulp fibroblasts (DP) and in the alveolar bone (AB). Bar, 100μm.
