Deficits in communication skills, both verbal and nonverbal, are central in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social (Pragmatic) Communication Disorder (SCD). Treatment goals focused on the acquisition of functional communication skills are among the most prevalent targets for instruction in education plans for persons with developmental disabilities (Sigafoos, 1997).
