With the globalisation of the higher education industry, service quality in the higher education services is seen as a vital factor in determining a university’s competitive advantage. This study posits that higher education sector has unique characteristics that differ from retailing industries and therefore requires a customised approach towards service quality measurement. Existing measures of service quality in higher education have largely concentrated on the use of generic models such as SERVQUAL and SERVPERF in assessing students’ perception.
