<p></p><p>ABSTRACT This paper aims to consolidating the main characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of available methods in technical-scientific community to odor and corrosion control in sanitary sewerage systems and treatment plants, taking along an innovative approach on preventive solutions related to sewage systems design and operation with addition of chemicals or liquid phase aeration. The main beliefs of each technique are presented as well as the main guidelines for alternatives design.
