The detection of small molecules impacts various fields; however, their small size and low concentration are usually the cause of limitations in their detection. Thus, the need for biosensors with appropriate probes and signal amplification strategies is required. Aptamers are appropriate probes selected specifically against small targets such as adenosine. The possibility to split aptamers in parts led to original amplification strategies based on sandwich assays.
