We said last time that Konkani identity draws from its <i>kshatriya </i>(<i>jaina</i>) and the <i>brāmhaṇa</i> past, along with its <i>vaḍukar</i> origin. The task before us is to trace the journey of this <i>jaina</i> element all the way from <i>Magadha</i> to Konkan.
