A method is presented to solve the plane elastic problem of a solid weakened by numerous cracks. The method provides an efficient computational procedure to solve crack interaction problems. Besides non-intersecting multiple open cracks, the method can tl eat intersectional cracks, surface contact cracks or even partial surface contact cracks. All of these complicated multiple crack problems can be solved accurately
