Abstract

Various experiments and measurements in the field of natural sciences have given us a great body of information about structure of matter and the evolution of the Universe. Though the increase in knowledge in these fields has been remarkable, further studies are required to answer the questions that have arisen. In the fields of nuclear structure and astrophysics, central questions concern the processes which lead to production of the chemical elements. It is assumed that the elements heavier than iron originate from collapsing stars or stellar collisions, the process depending on the nuclear forces and symmetries in the rare isotopes.
