Book Review: St. Martin Studies 2006

The first section of the book traverses myriad and diverse educational intersections in the Caribbean. The methodological diversity is as equally rich: from the employ of quantitative studies to ethnographies to historiographies to exploratory pieces. There are even several authors from beyond the region as well, notably the Netherlands, Belgium and the U.S. The topics covered present a rather convincing case for educational reconceptualization, by adroitly juxtaposing diverse views on the struggle to simultaneously deepen the Caribbeanization of the educational enterprise and have that same enterprise be responsive to the ever-changing tides that globalization brings to our shores.
