In this article, a mixed acceptance sampling plan, which is the combination of an attribute plan and a variable plan based on C-pk, is proposed when the quality characteristic follows the normal distribution. The plan parameters are determined using a nonlinear optimization method such that producer's risk and consumer's risk are satisfied simultaneously for given values of acceptable quality level and limiting quality level. Symmetric and asymmetric cases are considered to design the proposed plan. The performance of the proposed plan over the attribute and variable sampling plans is discussed. Tables of plan parameters and examples are given to illustrate the plan developed here.X112422sciescopu
