In this paper, I aim to analyse the structures of resources, production, distribution, industrial processes and comsumption of Kiso-hinoki, and the problems of those structures, taking Kiso district in Nagano prefecture. Kiso-hinoki, producing natural timbers in the Kiso mountain range, are famous good quality of timbers in Japan. After World War II, in Kiso district the Kiso-hinoki lumber allied industries came to stay in earnest, and until the first oil crisis in 1973 they developed satisfactorily. But, since the second oil crisis in 1979 they were gradually driven into managerial difficulties.
