Add to ORKGトウガラシ（Capsicum spp.）遺伝資源52系統について，果形，果実色などの果実形質と果実の辛味成分含量および早晩性，草型などの生育特性について評価を行った。この結果，C.annuumとC.baccatumは０～5,000μg/gDWの辛味成分含量の分布を示す系統で構成されており，果形等の遺伝的変異も大きかった。C.chinenseは果形が円錐型，釣鐘型，ベルまたはブロッキー型で，比較的高辛味の果実が多く，辛味の変異幅も大きかった。C.frutescensは小型の果実であり，比較的高辛味の系統で構成された。C.pubescensは辛味成分含有比が他種とは異なり，ジヒドロカプサイシン含量がカプサイシン含量を上回っていた。この他，果実色，果形，早晩性，草型などの結果から，これら遺伝資源は，育種素材，遺伝解析の素材として有用であると考えられた
