Observations by the INTEGRAL telescope have revealed significant new populations of sources which may be detected by their emissions in the hard X-ray band. Here, we review the capabilities of INTEGRAL which have led to these discoveries, discuss these new populations of sources, and discuss how further observations will continue to enhance our knowledge of these new source classes
