This study primarily examines the impactof information on societies throughout the history. The point of information in pre-industrialised societies has been thoroughly investigated. After the industrial revolution, that deemed to be the milestone in history, technological improvements and inventions become irreplaceable in human life especially in manufacturing. The economic, social, cultural and technologic affects of this inevitable change on information and its position on societies has been expressly stated. After being an industrialised society, the ones who could produce and effectively utilise the information, took a major step forward towards becoming an information society.
