Tres escenarios lacustres del Pleistoceno de la Cuenca de Guadix-Baza (Granada)

In the Pleistocene Guadix-Baza lacustrine Basin, the different ostracode species are related to the hydro-geochemical characteristics (mainly salinity) of the subenvironments occurring in each particular area, whereas the d780 measured in ostracode valves reflects the global climatic conditions. This lack of correspondence is due to the high sensitivity of ostracodes to a change in the environmental conditions and, furthermore because of the local characteristics, which can produce uncertainties in the palaeoenvironmental interpretation. This has been defined as the "mosaic effect", which is described as the assembly of characteristics typical of a shallow water-body, defined by its position within the basin, materials of the catchment area, runoff and underground water inputs, among others, that affect, in a different way, the ecology and geochemistry of nearby waterbodies.
