Add to ORKGThe subject of this thesis is the early published prose of Ernest Hemingway, up to and including The Sun Also Rises. The more significant aspects of the early writing with which this study will be concerned are Hemingway's fictional style and the viewpoint he adopts, both as short story writer and as novelist. As a corollary to these lines of investigation, the compatibility of style and subject will be examined.
