Abtract Rancang Bangun Dan Pengujian Heat Exchanger Cross Flow Unmixed, Non Finned Tube Four Pass, Untuk Mengeringkan Empon-Empon Dengan Variasi Mass Flow Rate Heat exchanger is a tool used to transfer heat from the system to another system with mass transfer and usually serves as a heater or cooler. Heat transfer occurs because of the contact, either between the fluid there is a wall that separates it and both are mixed directly. The purpose of this research is to know the variation of mass flow rate to temperature change, heat change, change of coefficient of total heat transfer, change of heat coefficient, heat exchanger efficiency change and change of temulawak period. The variations of mass flow rate used are 0.019, 0.022, 0.024, 0.026. The work of this heat exchanger is by utilizing the cold fluid flow out of the blower to the heat exchanger, in a cold fluid heat exchanger will recieve the heat flowing in the shell, the heat flowing in the shell is formed from the stove under the heat exchanger, then The cold fluid will exit from the heat exchanger to the empon-empon dryer. Maximum drying result is at 0.022 cold fluid mass flow rate, with 331 gram of empon-empon yield, heat absorbed by cold fluid 2068,232 Watt and heat exchanger efficiency of 37,49%.
