The Courage Of Nick Reflected In Lisa Kleypes’s Worth Any Price Novel (2003) : An Individual Psychological Approach

The objectives of this study are to analyze courage of Nick and the reason of Nick’s courage appearance in Worth Any Price Novel viewed from individual psychological approach. The research is qualitative research. The object of the study is the Worth Any Price novel by Lisa Kleypes which is published in 2003 by Avon. The method of collecting data is reading the novel repeatedly, taking notes of important part in both primary and secondary data, the note can be written or computer, uunderlying the important word, phrases and sentences which are related to the study, arranging the data into several part based on its classification (problem statement and the theory), and selecting the data by rejecting the irrelevant information which does not support the topic of the study. The result of the study shows that The courage that preserves its belonging of Nick appears when he tries to get someone that he things suitable for him. Nick really wants someone who is really able to give him satisfaction. Then Nick has courage to make decision to keep Charlotte stays in town rather than send her to her family and her fiancé. The rational courage appears related to the courage to make decision by sacrificing self-ego. Nick tries to do the right thing by sending Charlotte back to her family. The reason of the appearance of Nick’s courage in Worth Any Price Novel viewed from individual psychological approach appears in the novel where the courage preserves its belonging is clear that the reason of one person who has courage must because of love and care. The reason of Nick rational courage appears where Nick finally makes decision to be courage to send Charlotte back to her family. Keywords: courage, Individual psychological, worth any price
