Process evaluation of the project P.A.T.H.S. in Hong Kong

This study examined the program adherence and implementation process of the Project P.A.T.H.S. (P.A.T.H.S. denotes Positive Adolescent Training through Holistic Social Programmes) and investigated the predictors of the quality and success of program implementation. Program delivery in 62 randomly selected schools in Hong Kong was systematically observed by using 11 process indicators. Results showed that overall levels of program adherence and implementation quality were high. Process evaluation scores varied with school grade, type of implementer, and mode of curriculum integration. Exploratory factor analysis showed that the implementation process is a unidimensional construct. Hierarchical multiple regression analyses showed that both the program adherence and implementation process predict implementation quality and success.Department of Applied Social Science
