This paper reports an investigation on the pedestrian travel time functions for various pedestrian facilities in the Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway (MTR) stations. As the pedestrian walking behavior can be influenced by the physical properties of the walking facilities, different pedestrian facilities are classified for analysis. Surveys were conducted in the Hong Kong MTR stations and the data collected were used to develop fifteen sets of pedestrian travel time function for the classified pedestrian facilities.
