The laser fabrication of metal-matrix composite (MMC) layer on stainless steel 316L with the characteristics such as corrosion resistance was described. Flame spraying and pasting were used to preplace metal-ceramic powders and ceramic powders on stainless steel specimens. Optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and x-ray diffractometry were used to investigate the microstructure and composition of MMC layers.Department of Industrial and Systems Engineerin
