By using the combination of the Hough and the contour sequence matching techniques, we suggest a new algorithm of scale and rotation invariant for pattern recognition. In our proposed algorithm, the conventional four-dimensional Hough space is replaced by a two-dimensional one. Because of the significant reduction of memory requirement, we can provide a much faster and more efficient generalized Hough algorithm. In order to enhance the performance of the Hough transform, we also suggest a new peak searching technique on the Hough space to achieve an accurate location of the detected objects.Department of Electronic and Information Engineerin
