Abstract This study aimed to investigate and analyze how the issues of migration and refugee are represented in the Swedish daily and evening newspapers. This aimed to analyze what / which discourses emerge. This has been based on a social constructionist and post colonialist perspective with discourse analysis as main method. Through a critical discourse analysis has articles from four newspapers Aftonbladet and Dagens Nyheter, Expressen and the Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet, written between 2004 and 2014 been analyzed.
