To investigate the factors influencing the length of surviva after elective repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). we conducted aretrospective case study of 338 consecutive patients between 1980 and 1899 at our institute. Preoperative and intraoperative factors were analysed using the Cox hazards model. The hospital mortality rate was 1.2%. The survival rate was 81.0% at 5 years and 54.5% at 10 years. The free rate from cardiovascular related death was 90.0% at 5 years, and 72.5 % at 10 years. A univariate analysis demonstrated that risk factors affecting survival rate were age, arrhythmia, and untreated thoracic aneurysm.
