Background: Childhood obesity is a complex disease resulting from genetic, metabolic, and behavioral factors. It is a condition where excess body fat negatively affects child’s health or well-being. It is also considered as a medical condition because it has an adverse effect on human health such as hypertension, respiratory disorders, glucose intolerance and type 2 diabetes mellitus, depression and low self-esteem to social discrimination.
