The goal ofthis study is analyze the effect ofthe meteorological parameters on the\ud variability ofthe mass concentration and elemental composition ofPM2.5 (fine particulate\ud matter) in Cachoeira Paulista, city located in Paraíba Valley, in São Paulo state. The Paraíba\ud Valley is surrounded by four federal highways and is between the two major Brazilian\ud economic poles: São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. As a consequence, it presents high traffic of\ud heavy vehicles, which use as main fuel the diesel oil.
