Restrição alimentar no desempenho produtivo da tilápia (Oreochromis niloticus)

The experiment was accomplished at the Laboratory of Mariculture of the Federal University of Maranhão. With the objective of evaluating the effect of the alimentary restriction in the productive acting of juvenile of tilapia of Nile (Oreochromis niloticus) cultivated in system of recirculation of water. It was used 300 juvenile of tilápia, distributed in 6 tanks of fiber-cement of 1000 L. The treatments were: (A) food supplied daily; (B) food supplied day yes and day no and (C) food supplied once every 2 days, being four repetitions for each treatment. They were appraised physiochemical parameters of the water and of productive acting. The results were submitted the variance analysis, and the averages were compared by the test Tukey, to 5% of probability. The quality of the water and the alimentary conversion were not influenced by the alimentary strategy. The productive actingpresents differentiates significant (P <0,05) among the treatments, being the best for the fish fed daily without alimentary restriction, the worst for the fish fed once every 2 days. The alimentary restriction in fish reduces the growth performance.O experimento foi realizado no Laboratório de Maricultura da Universidade Federal do Maranhão com o objetivo de avaliar o efeito da restrição alimentar no desempenho produtivo de juvenis de tilapia do Nilo (Oreochromis niloticus) cultivados em sistema de recirculação de água. Foi utilizado 300 juvenis de tilápia, distribuídos em 6 tanques de fibra-cimento de 1000 L. Os tratamentos foram: (A) alimento fornecido diariamente; (B) alimento fornecido dia sim e dia não e (C) alimento fornecido uma vez a cada 2 dias, sendo quatro repetições para cada tratamento. Foram avaliados parâmetros físico-químicos da água e de desempenho produtivo. Os resultados foram submetidos a análise de variância, e as médias foram comparadas pelo teste Tukey, a 5% de probabilidade. A qualidade da água e a conversão alimentar não foram influenciadas pela estratégia alimentar. O desempenho produtivo apresentou diferença significativa (P<0,05) com os tratamentos, sendo o melhor para os peixes alimentados diariamente e o pior para os peixes alimentados uma vez a cada 2 dias. A restrição alimentar em peixes diminui o desempenho produtivo.
