This paper examines the experiences of Asian women at a university in the UK. It focuses on women's views on arranged and forced marriages and argues that the educational background of women make a signficant difference on whether women participate in arranged marriages. Women use education as 'bargaining resource' in which to negogiate their position within the family. Those women with lower educational backgrounds were more likely to engage in arranged marriages
