An Analysis of Food Menu Translation of Belle Vue Restaurant at G.H. Universal Hotel Anisa Nur Indah 13010021

The title of this paper is “An Analysis of Food Menu Translation of Belle Vue Restaurant at G.H. Universal Hotel”. This paper contains research about translation. The writer researched a food menu from G.H. Universal Hotel. In that restaurant has several types of guest from high to general levels and the writer found most of the people who do not understand the meaning, even they did not know how to read it. Based on the matters, the writer has a desire to give new knowledge about the translation of the menu. She investigates the meaning by using procedure are used to translate and the writer limits this study only in food menu without the beverages menu because that menu is written in single word, mostly consist of Coffee, Juice, basic beverages, cocktails and wine. The writer analyzes the data use Newmark’s theory, she is transferring the strange language into an understandable language. The writer read several books to increase her creative skill of thought during writing this paper and she also sharing with peoples who have more knowledge about the object. She works hard to make this paper can be useful for the readers and can improve others interest to do translation. Keywords: Menu, Translation, Procedures, Meanin
