Development of rapid prototyping processes for the fabrication of lost models for investment casting

Das Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit ist die Entwicklung von Rapid Prototyping- und den dazugehörigen Rapid Tooling Prozessen für das Feingießen von geometrisch komplexen Metallbauteilen. Da im Feingussprozess bestimmte Hohlstrukturen mittels Keramikschalenaufbau nicht herstellbar sind, ist es notwendig, um komplexe Innengeometrien zu erzeugen, keramische Kerne in den Prozess zu integrieren. Aus diesem Grund beschäftigt sich die vorliegende Arbeit, neben der Entwicklung eines schnellen und stabilen dreidimensionalen Druckprozesses zur Herstellung verlorener Modelle und Keramikschalen, auch mit der Entwicklung eines Herstellungsprozesses für keramische Kerne.The objective of the presented work is the development of rapid prototyping and related rapid tooling processes for investment casting of complex shaped metal parts. As in investment casting it is not possible to fabricate certain hollow structures using the ceramic shell build-up it is necessary to integrate ceramic cores in the process to realize complex internal structures in the cast parts. By reason of this the two main focuses of the performed investigations are the development of a fast and stable 3D-printing process to fabrication of lost polymer models and ceramic dies and the development of a process to fabrication of ceramic cores
