Diese Arbeit beschreibt zunächst den Stand der Technik in der zerstörungsfreien Prüfung im Bauwesen. Der Schwerpunkt liegt dabei auf Methoden, die elastische Wellen verwenden, wie z. B. die Schallemissionsanalyse, die Ultraschalltechnik und die Impact-Echo-Methode. Nach einer Einführung in die Theorie werden Anwendungsbeispiele gezeigt, sowie neue Analyse-Methoden vorgestellt, bei denen die Signale quantitativ ausgewertet werden. Signal-basierte Verfahren werden beschrieben, mit denen mehr Informationen aus den Daten für die Analyse der Schädigungsentwicklung verwendet werden können als bisher.
