Teoría del apego, insatisfacción con la imagen corporal y anorexia nerviosa

Several studies suggest that the presence of an insecure attachment is frequent in populations that suffer from eating disorders. The following research examined the relationship among the quality of the attachment between daughters and their mothers, and the way this promotes the development of a positive or negative self-image, to finally determine their vulnerability towards the possibility of experiencing anorexia nervosa. The participants of the study were first-year college students (n=50), which ages were between 18 and 19. Fifty participants answered two different questionnaires. The first, a translated version of the questionnaire CaMir-R, by which the type of the attachment was determined. Second, the questionnaire IMAGEN allowed the investigator to determine the level of body satisfaction in three different levels: cognitive-emotional, perceptive, and behavioral.Diversos estudios sugieren que la presencia de un tipo de apego inseguro es común en poblaciones que padecen trastornos de la conducta alimenticia. La presente investigación examinó la relación existente entre la calidad del apego de las hijas con sus madres, y la manera cómo ésta promueve la formación de una autoimagen positiva o negativa, para finalmente, determinar su vulnerabilidad frente a la posibilidad de padecer anorexia nerviosa. Las participantes del estudio fueron mujeres universitarias de primer año (n=50) cuyas edades oscilaron entre los 18 y 19 años. Cincuenta participantes repondieron a dos instrumentos.
