The management of adenoid hypertrophy that causes nasal obstruction in children is dependent on the clinical manifestations and any associated morbidity. When performed adenoidectomy, the risk-benefit ratio of surgical intervention for the individual child needs to be carefully assessed in light of potential anesthetic and postoperative complications. An alternative is the use of intranasal corticosteroids. We performed a prospective, analytic, observational trial.
