KOMUNIKASI KELUARGA PADA ORANG DENGAN HIV/AIDS DALAM MENINGKATKAN SEMANGAT HIDUP ( Studi Deskriptif Kualitatif Di Kecamatan Brosot Kabupaten Kulon Progo Provinsi D.I Yogyakarta)

People with HIV / AIDS (PLHAs) are one of Indonesia social welfare problems, It coused by negative stigma and discriminatory act in the social community, as a result of them the PLHAs will meet any social problems such as social dysfunctions and psychosocial Based on that background, this research aims to explain about improvement in spirite of life for PLHAs by using Family’s Communication who assisted by companion the Yayasan victory plus. This research will use the interpersonal communication theory : openness, emphaty, supportiveness, positiveness, and equality. This research applied descriptive qualitative. Meanwhile, method to collect data for this research use interview, observation, and literature review. The result of this research is there are efforts to improve spirits of life the PLHAs by the indicators that used by Yayasan victory plus as a reference it is called 5 pillars of quality of life for PLHAs : increasing confidence, knowledge and information about HIV/AIDS, access in support, medical treatment and care for PLHAs, do not transmit the virus to others and the last is positive behavior.
