Post-Disaster Technical Information Flow for the Reconstruction of Housing.

(101.3)The digital Cuny Archive was made available in part through funding assistance from USAID.In the last few years, natural disasters in Haiti, Nicaragua, Turkey, Iran, Bangladesh, Peru and Guatemala destroyed housing to such an extent that massive reconstruction programs were needed. Following each disaster, the respective national government, other governments, international agencies, local communities and other groups responded by initiating housing programs. The goal of this paper is to briefly investigate where such programs acquired the technical information needed to formulate and implement postdisaster housing programs, and to explore the need for and possible ways of improving this technical information flow.INTERTEC
