This inquiry focuses on the nature of the relationship between the business and education partners, the benefits (academic, economic, and social) and/or rewards to students as a result of the partnership, the benefits (economic, social, and academic) and/or rewards for business partners who participate. Interviews are utilized to assess opinions and attitudes the business partners (Trinity University, Valero Energy Corporation, Southwestern Bell Telephone, Northeast Independent School District and Harcourt Brace) as well as the faculty and principal at the school. Student surveys are used to assess student perceptions as to the degree and nature of business involvement in their school, as well as perceived benefits from attending the school.
