Behavioral programs that seek to reduce consumer energy use are attracting increased interest as governments, industry, and the public scale up their energy efficiency efforts to reduce carbon emissions and accomplish numerous other environmental and economic goals. Although they are not often described as 'behavioral' programs by those who run them, these programs have a rich history in the industrial sector.
