This paper examines the need for energy management education in the industrial sector, and focuses on the cooperative efforts of federal and state governments and educational organizations/institutions to fulfill that need. The roles of government and educational organizations and their respective capabilities in energy education are discussed, with emphasis on the role of the professional society.
