International audienceCurrently, the control of mechanical systems is local. In the future, with the development of new e-technologies, this control will be remote and made over networks, even unpredictable networks such as the Internet. In the first part of this paper, we present the principal concerns of such a control and we describe some existing applications. In the second part, we propose a generic software architecture to implement such remote control taking into account the unpredictable nature of communication. In the third part we present some implementations in Brest : in the laboratory of computer science, in the IUT, and active control of cameras with variable pan/tilt/zoom situated in the UBO and in Oceanopolis.
