The efficient application of SA 8000 Certification through the measuring of corporate reputation: the case Covalence SA

The thesis is the outcome of a research about SA 8000 Certification. The work is made up of three parts: 1)Searching information about the standard, the relationship between costs and benefits and the important role of stakeholder for the enterprises. 2)Detecting the case of Covalence SA, a Swiss company that uses the information to measure the ethical behaviour through 50 criteria. There is a link between the criteria and the SA 8000. 3)Analysis of the competitive context in the age of complexity and uncertainty and the relevant of triple bottom line (economic, environmental and social aspects) for the survival of business in the long time term. In conclusion, I prove my point that there are many advantages for the responsible companies because the profit and ethic reality can exist together, without separations. La tesi è il risultato della ricerca in merito alla certificazione SA 8000. Il lavoro si sviluppa in tre parti: 1)Ricerca informazioni sullo standard, il rapporto tra costi e benefici e l’importante ruolo degli stakeholder per le imprese. 2)Studio del caso di Covalence SA, una società svizzera che usa le informazioni per misurare il comportamento etico attraverso 50 criteri. C’è un collegamento tra i criteri e la SA 8000. 3)Analisi del contesto competitivo nell’era della complessità e dell’incertezza e l’importanza degli aspetti economici, ambientali e sociali per la sopravvivenza dell’impresa nel lungo periodo. In conclusione, dimostro che ci sono molti vantaggi per le società responsabili perché il profitto e l’etica possono coesistere, senza separazioni
