This publication is to be seen as my testament to human geography with a focus on my research. The publication consists of two parts: two paper presentations and a text that summarizes all my published research results together with a list of my publications. An explanation of the paper presentations is necessary here. They have been in my desk drawer for a long time but have never been published. Now when I am finishing my research career I would love to see them in print at last. Let us call them the expression of my last scientific ambition.
