The quality of the retinal image is influenced by the monochromatic aberrations of the eye and these aberrations are known to change with accommodation level. Since the\ud monochromatic aberrations of the eye alter the focus of light at the retina, they might also be expected to influence the characteristics of the steady-state accommodation response.
