Abstract In the project a method to calculate the road profile, from the vehicle dynamic has been studied. The project can be subdivided in two parts. The first part concerns the realization of a mathematical model to simulate the vehicle dynamic in fact experimental data were not available for this project. For this model a simplified version of the rigid ring model has been used. The attention of the model has been concentrate on the vertical behaviour of the vehicle. It is important to emphasize that this study has been motivated to solve a problem concerning dump truck, and especially the tyre for the dump truck.
