The investigation of regional blood flow by SPECT has proved a useful tool in the assessment of various brain disorders. Although most SPECT investigations have been performed on adults, the number of publications on the use of SPECT in children is increasing. The aim of this study was to compare the results of brain SPECT and quantified EEG in a small group of children with heterogenous supratentorial lesions. Our results indicate that there are correlations between regional cerebral blood flow and quantitatively analysed EEG background activity in children with various supratentorial lesions. The statistical analysis indicates that decreased blood flow is coupled with an increased amount of slow wave activity on EEG. These results complem...
