Dr. Dirks-Edmunds was an ecologist and former professor of biology at Linfield who devoted 50 years of her life to studying the Douglas fir trees along Oregon’s coastline. Dirks-Edmunds\u27s study of Saddleback (Saddle Bag) Mountain is considered the most comprehensive ecological study in the Northwest. In her lecture, Hilton highlights items from the collection, provides a timeline of major accomplishments, and shares a glimpse of who Dirks-Edmunds was as a person
