OBJECTIVE. The goal was to determine, in children with myocarditis, the frequency of various presenting symptoms and the sensitivity of clinical and laboratory investigations routinely available in the emergency department. METHODS. We performed a retrospective review of all patients <18 years of age who were diagnosed as having myocarditis at our institution between May 2000 and May 2006 and who initially presented to an emergency department.
