Fine needle aspiration cytology of a metastatic skin nodule diagnosed as a dedifferentiated chondrosarcoma

The solitary, distant cutaneous metastasis of a dedifferentiated chondrosarcoma is a rare presentation. To the best of our knowledge, it has seldom been reported.1,2 Here we present a case in which a skin nodule was noticed by the patient 3 years after a below-knee amputation for a low-grade chondrosarcoma of the tibia. A 35-year-old man was referred to us for fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) of a solitary, mobile, nontender, firm to hard cutaneous nodule of 2.53 cm on the left side of the chest wall (Figure 1A). He also complained of chest pain along with cough and hemoptysis for 1 month. Chest examination revealed right side crepitus, and the radiograph showed a 5-cm-diameter circular, radiodense shadow in the right chest (cannonball shadow)
